It has been out for less than two weeks, but Netflix knows a success when it
sees “senses it like the world is on fire” a hit.
According to the Hollywood Reporter:
Eleven days after bowing Marvel’s Daredevil, Netflix has renewed the superhero drama for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Daredevil, starring Boardwalk Empire alum Charlie Cox, was the first of five Marvel series to debut on the streaming service. The series will return in 2016 — with new showrunners Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy), who will take over for Steven DeKnight. (DeKnight took over for initial showrunner Drew Goddard, who exited to focus on Marvel features.)
Interesting that the show runners are changing. Is DeKnight also moving on to features?
Either way, here’s hoping season two builds on the excellence that was season 1.
