Netflix has announced they are bringing back Arrested Development for Season 5. The network famously revivved the series for a fourth season after it was cancelled by Fox.
Brian Grazer said new episodes of “Arrested Development” could stream on Netflix as soon as 2016. Production is slated to begin on Season 5 after January 1, 2016 with a target release “four months after that.” “Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we’re going to do more episodes,” Grazer told Adam Carolla on the actor’s podcast. Perhaps most importantly, Grazer also said that everyone is on board. Whether or not the show will follow the same disjointed format remains to be seen.
The first three seasons are as brilliant as anything ever made. The fourth season was a terrible disappointment, though. I’ll probably pass on S5 unless the reviews are out of this world.
Surprisingly I agree with your assessment of Seasons 1-3 versus Season 4. I’m sure I’ll probably still check it out, but expectations will definitely be lowered after the disappointing last season.
