WOWZERS! Would you look at that! We can all thank Erik Jones for building a castle that makes us think of “once upon a time.” He built it from 50,000 LEGO bricks. Jones–already a LEGO builder–was inspired by taking a close look at Cinderella’s Castle on a visit to the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. He took his time designing the castle in LEGO Digital Designer and used original blueprint sketches he found online for the castle before starting to piece it together in January. The finished model of Cinderella’s Castle stands at six and a half feet high and is four and a half feet wide. By the time all 50,000 bricks were clicked into place, Jones estimates he spent $4,500 on supplies. I wonder if I ask my fairy Godmother really nicely, if she’d build something like this for me too!
