It’s been a bad week for people associated with Batman. Actress Yvonne Craig, best known as Batgirl in the 60s Adam West-starring TV show, has died. She was 78.
Craig did a lot of TV in the 60s, including one of those green women who always seem to want something from Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek. But she’s best known, of course, as Barbara “Batgirl” Gordon, daughter of the police commissioner and city librarian by day and daughter of the police commissioner and vigilante by night. Craig fit right in with the goofy camp of the series, even if she was not really part of the show until its final season. She will be missed.
