Ok, who had 2015 on the board for “Beastie Boys song in a Star Trek trailer”? Great choice though. Love “Sabotage”. I wonder if they are trying to tell us something? Hmmm…

Well, it’s better than the ID4.2 trailer…but I’m not sold. Well, maybe that is not the right way to put it as I’m sure I’ll be seeing it, but it didn’t grab me. I love the first two Bad Robot Trek movies and am a big fan of new director Justin Lin’s work on the Fast and Furious franchise and love Simon Pegg who worked on the script…so it has a lot going for it. I just can’t quite put my finger on it. It gave me a very Star Trek: Nemesis feeling for some reason, I’m not sure why, which is not a good thing. Let’s hope that without JJ Abrams who was a little busy making Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that Pegg, Lin, et al are up for the challenge.
And hey, Ryan just stopped by my office. Guess he’s taking a break from his search for Watson. That doesn’t seem to be going well anyway.
Ryan: Just watched the trailer. It has two serious WTF? moments but I’m still in.
Jimmy: Which moments?
Ryan: The motorcycle was the first moment. Second was the “if I can just hold her hand then she’ll beam with me” at the end.
Jimmy: What about the bike? Just it’s existence? The beam at the end is WTF? for sure.
Ryan: Yeah that the story of the trailer is you get stranded on a foreign planet and face an enemy when your ship is gone. But you have a dirt bike.
Well, back to “looking” for Watson I guess.
