Why does Homer Simpson hate Ned Flanders so much? The world may never know.
Why Homer would sometimes actually try to help Ned the world knows even less about.
Yes, once again Homer’s baffling distaste for Ned Flanders, a man who has been nothing but nice to the entire Simpson clan, who even would save Homer from choking to death, rears its ugly head again.
I’m not sure why anyone is surprised Flanders failed. Left handed people only make up about ten percent of the population. That’s hardly a huge percentage.
But this is Springfield, where people as diverse as Ned, Moe, and Mr. Burns are all apparently left handed.
Besides, speaking as a right-handed person, I never knew how difficult it was for all those items…well, maybe not the nunchucks. Does it really matter for a corkscrew? And since when was Moe’s Tavern so classy he had to open a wine bottle for anything? The only thing I know about left-handedness is that sometimes it can be used to try and win a duel.
In the B-plot, Bart takes karate classes for about a minute before wasting money on video games. That works until he’s called upon to defend Lisa with the touch of death, a move Bart obviously doesn’t know.
Wait, there was a point I was trying to make…oh yeah, after wishing Ned would fail, Homer actually has an attack of conscience and helps Flanders succeed. Then the entire town sings along with Todd Flanders. Or maybe it was Rod Flanders.
I still can’t tell those two apart. Lousy Flanderses.
