This episode features Mr. Burns selling the nuclear plant to some Germans and then getting it back.
But who cares about that? Homer visits the Land of Chocolate in his imagination!
Yes, was there ever a more glorious, more exquisite dream sequence on the entire run of the show than the Land of Chocolate?
Just look at how happy Homer is in that clip! He skips, he smiles, he takes a bite out of a living thing and finds chocolate at half price! It’s paradise for Homer Simpson!
Yeah, you just can’t beat that 30 or so seconds of prime Simpsons dream sequence.
…
…
Oh, yeah, I should probably say some more.
So, anyway, a depressed Burns sells the plant to some Germans also hoping to buy the Cleveland Browns, and they lay off exactly one incompetent worker. That’d be Homer.
Then they realize the plant needs repairs that would cost as much as they paid for the place in the first place and sell it back to Burns, who realizes having money without being able to strike fear in the hearts of poor working class folks isn’t worth it.
Do I need to say more than that? Nope.
Back to the Land of Chocolate for me…
