The Red Hood is coming to Gotham, but is he the Joker? Gotham producers are promising a shocking season finale and the appearance of another character steeped in Bat-Lore. Specific details about which Red Hood we will see are not provided. Will this play into the long standing believed origin of the Joker starting his career as the Red Hood? Or will it simply be the Red Hood Gang? One thing I’m pretty sure of, it won’t be Jason Todd (the former Robin and current Red Hood in most incarnations of the DCU). Though Gotham has turned a lot of the Bat-mythos on it’s ear, so who knows.
The revolving space door that is the rebooted Star Trek universe now has a new co-writer. Scotty himself, Simon Pegg will co-write Star Trek 3 with television producer Doug Jung. I loved Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, so Pegg is no stranger to pleasing the Geekdom. But the constant upheaval around this project since Abrams left to do some Disney movie, is not giving me very many warm and fuzzy feelings. Hopefully they can get back on track and continue the resurgence of the new Trek films.
Love Jar Jar? How about Midi-chlorians? No? Young Anakin? Wooden acting? Forced (see what I did there?) love stories? No lens flares? Well my friend, Star Wars: The Force Awakens might just be the film for you!
Disney and JJ Abrams have apparently ignored all story ideas for Episode 7 that Lucas sold along with the Star Wars rights back in 2012.
Surely the brain child of our most beloved franchise had some ideas that we might have loved. The new trilogy wasn’t that bad. Darth Maul was awesome. And…uh…you know, that thing, with the stars and the wars and…oh, you were going to see Force Awakens anyway, who are we kidding.
We all love Gotham. But how much better would it be if Jim Gordon used to be
Batman Superman? If that intrigues you, you might want to check out Powers from Brian Michael Bendis. (It’s apparently Bendis Day here at Gabbing Geek.) While there are umpteen trade paperback collections for you to cut your teeth on, you can catch Powers as the Playstation Network’s first live action show on March 10th.
Make sure you have a Playstation Plus account if you plan to watch more than the first episode which will be free to all.
I was very disappointed that Marvel never had the balls to let Galactus eat the Ultimate Universe last year in Cataclysm. Seriously, how epic would that have been? Instead they kept the 1610 universe around for another year with three crappy short lived titles. (Ok, two, Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man is still good.) Jenny fav Brian Michael Bendis is again teasing the end of the Ultimate Universe to go hand in hand with this years Secret Wars event. Since Cataclysm it seems like Miles is spending more time interacting with the 616 universe in Spider-Verse and All-New X-Men and we know he has a big role in Secret Wars, so hurry up Marvel and make him a permanent resident.
