Awesome Cosplay Of The Day: Lara Croft

leeannavamplaracroftcosplay8

So I figure if I continue to post these “not Jenny approved” cosplays, Jenny will eventually return to smite me down and reclaim her thrown as Queen of the Cosplays.  So after the break, check out this great Lara…Croft…what, what is it?

(Editors Note:  Jimmy, Jenny just posted a new cosplay like an hour ago.)

She what?  Oh, for God’s sake.  Sure, sure, after I finally get off my butt and post not one, but two articles today, Jenny comes riding in on her white horse all, “look at me, I’ve returned and brought excellent cosplays with me that I found in my travels!”  Yeah, all hail Jenny!  Queen of the…whatever.  I’m going back to reading Spider-Man comics.

I mean, WELCOME BACK JENNY!

If You’re Planning To Buy The Fallout 4 Season Pass Do It Soon

FO4_Add-On_Pack_v8-auto_1000

There was a time when I spent a lot of time playing video games.  And I spent many a late, late night wandering the wastelands of Fallout 3.  But these days, priorities have changed.  Other interests take center stage.  Dogs need to be walked.  Suppers need to be made.  I’m spending a lot more time reading Spider-Man comic books.  Needless to say, my gaming time has declined sharply.  But I still love it and whatever time I can throw at it.  Currently I am struggling to finish Arkham Knight (only half the Riddler trophies to go!).  I have an unopened copy of Fallout 4 sitting there, taughting me, but I know that if I stop playing Batman now, I will never go back to it.  And the completiest in me would like to say I finished it.

But given the news I heard today, I might need to make starting Fallout 4, or at least buying the Season Pass a priorty.  Find out why after the break.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Game Trailer Looks Awesome

LSWTFA_BoxArt-600x802

Unlike many of my fellow geeks here, I’ve never gotten into the Lego video games.  I’ve tried a few demos and I own one of the Marvel Super Hero ones, but have barely played it.  Maybe one day I’ll get back at it, but I have so many games I want to play that I’ll never get to as is, so who knows.

Regardless, news leaked and then became official today that a new Lego Star Wars game would be available on June 28th.  Not only will gamers will be able to relive the events of The Force Awakens, but the game will also feature story that fills in continuity gaps between Return of the Jedi and TFA.  That is causing quite a stir online, but really it isn’t much more than they’ve done with the novels and comic books that bear this logo:

Still a cool move by Lego and Star Wars, and you can check out the entertaining game announcement trailer after the jump.

Please Tell Me Uncharted 4 Will Be Better Than Arkham Knight

uncharted4

Back in March I broke down and bought a PS4.  (Getting it a ridiculous (but still expensive) price at a “Going out of business” sale helped.)  I knew I would get one at some point with the prior announcement of two games I was very excited about.  Batman Arkham Knight and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Unfortunately I’ve found Arkham Knight to be a huge disappointment.  One of the big sells of the game was the inclusion of the Batmobile…which has turned into my least favorite aspect.  The thing is hard too handle while driving and there are just way, way, way too many Batmobile missions.  And if I wanted to spend hours at a time fighting tanks, I would have bought a war simulator.  This ain’t Batman.

But I digress.  Hopefully my second anticipated game lives up to the hype when it arrives next March.  Check out a new trailer for Uncharted 4 after the break.

Time To Get Excited: Telltale Announces New Batman and Walking Dead Games

telltale_games_batman

I really love the Walking Dead games by Telltale Games.  (Not that dreadful Survival Instinct by Terminal Reality/Activision starring Darryl and Merle Dixon.  Dear God, what a half-assed money grab that was.)  They look great and the story is compelling.  The gameplay is fairly simple in general and I can see them boring some as they do involve a lot of conversations, but they also involve a lot of puzzles and decision making.  Coolest of all, those conversations and decisions impact the story going forward.  Pissed someone off in a conversation earlier…they might not try to help you when the walkers come.  Decide to let someone perish…guess what, you can’t open that gate now without their help.

This aspect of the game-play really drew me in and I was happy to see that those decisions didn’t just “live” in the current game, but would also be remembered in subsequent games.  (Assuming you kept those saved games around.)

After the cut, read more on a Telltale’s new Batman game and a Walking Dead game starring Michonne that spins off from the comic and not the previous games.

Like Resident Evil? Like Free Games? Like Free Resident Evil Games? Who Doesn’t?!

resident_evil_revelations2

I’ll admit to not having played all the Resident Evil games, but have loved what ones I have.  (Except for V…which I haven’t finished…)  I like the movies too…though I haven’t seen all of them either.  Maybe I’m not as big a Resident Evil fan as I think I am.

Anyway, if you are a Resident Evil fan, the first episode of the most recent game is now free to download across console platforms.  (PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360.  Apparently the PC version is not free and will still run you around $6.)  The game was released in 4 episodes with some bonus content, the rest of which is not free currently.  So be prepared to pay up if you enjoy episode one and want to continue.
