With Season Five of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones set to debut this week, there has been much talk that the show will pass the books and finish before Martin concludes the epic novel run (the producers know the ending). Well Martin might lose the war, but he at least wants to win the next battle!

For April Fool’s Day, Artist Julien Knez designed a series of fake VHS covers for modern TV shows and movies. They were too good not to share the rest after the break.
In news that should be, like, no surprise at all to fans of both George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels and the HBO series Game of Thrones, one of the producers of said show has pretty much acknowledged that the show will give away the end of the books before the books get there, which at Martin’s current pace will probably be around the year 2525, if man is still alive, if woman can survive.
I love television and I love the future but I am not loving these two huge missteps in the future of television. Both of them were just committed in the past day, and both by otherwise incredibly forward-thinking and innovative TV giants. So what did HBO and Netflix do that was so wrong?
