This visionary art is created by none other than deviant artist breathing2004 aka Jian Guo. All in all, Guo has made so many different beautiful art pieces, it’s hard to feature them all. But we picked our some of our favorites from his Lord Of The Rings/ Tolkien tribute. But to get the full experience, be sure to check out his website, and see more after the break.

INKTOBER Is Here! And That Means Lots Of Awesome Art!

Kallielef (Instagram)

Every October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. Jake Parker created InkTober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. Anyone can do InkTober, just pick up a pen and start drawing.

Here are the rules:

  1. Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
  2. Post it on your blog (or tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)
  3. Hashtag it with #inktober
  4. Repeat

So what are you waiting for! If you have a special Inktober you’d like Gabbing Geek to feature, just send us an email at GabbingGeek@gmail.com

Speed Art Drawing of Katniss Everdeen – The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

maxresdefault-2

Artists are amazing in their own right, but watching an artist work – especially over a time-lapse is even better. Check out Youtuber Jeanne D’Art as she draws a portrait of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. The tools she used were: Prismacolor Premier, Derwent Coloursoft, Faber Castell and Zest it for blending. See it all come together in the video after the break:

Which version of Storm is your favorite? Are you a classic or a mohawk kind of person?

ARCHIMEDES: Rules indeed! Why, she only wants rules so she can break them!

MADAM MIM: I’ll take care of you later, featherbrain. Now, rule one, no mineral or vegetable. Only animal. Rule two, no make-believe things like, pink dragons and stuff. Now, rule three, no disappearing.

MERLIN: Rule four, no cheating.

MADAM MIM: All right, all right.

Picolo-kun‘s depiction of the above Wizard’s Duel from Disney’s Sword In The Stone just about sums it up. Adorable!

May These Diablo III Crusaders Save Your Souls

diablo_3___the_crusader_by_jorsch-d7993ca

Last fall I was super obsessed with Diablo III. My husband and I would come home from work, cook up a quick meal, and then play all night going from on quest to the next. It was our happy-fall-routine. After we beat the game and continued to reap bounty after bounty through rifts and such, eventually we moved on. But the other night I picked up the game again, and remember the surge and beauty that was my Crusader character. If you too were a Diablo III fan – you’ll need to check out these collections of Female Crusaders – they are all quite stunning. (Artist featured above: Jorsch)

I couldn’t agree more 🙂
