The Circle is shaping up to be one of the big hits of 2016. The movie, based on the social media/technology book by Dave Eggers (founder of internet humor site McSweeney’s) already stars Tom Hanks, Emma Watson, John Boyega, Patton Oswalt, and Bill Paxton. And they just added Ellar Coltrane, the boy from Boyhood. Keep your eyes on this movie, and I’m guessing we’ll be doing a geek book club on this novel in the near future.

This year the Academy nominated only 8 films for Best Picture. A very interesting group of films. It looks to be between Birdman and Boyhood, but don’t sleep on Sniper making it a race.
- American Sniper
- Birdman
- Boyhood
- Grand Budapest Hotel
- Imitation Game
- Selma
- Theory of Everything
- Whiplash

Expect more in depth commentary on who will win, who SHOULD Win, and any surprises or snubs along the way!
