Yesterday was Back to the Future Day. Anyone who pays attention to Gabbing Geek knows we generally do one article an hour on the hour between 8 and 5 Central Time most weekdays.
We had, well, a lot more articles than that yesterday, all of them related to Back to the Future.
So, we’re taking the day off. Jimmy and I had an article each written well in advance, but that’s it. We have other things to do today. We’ll be back to our usual full day of content tomorrow. Happy trails. Or maybe…
Or…how Back To The Future should have ended. Time travel is tricky business, especially into the future. After the cut see what happens if someone like myself or Tom had written the end/beginning of these two films.
In celebration of Back To the Future’s 30th anniversary Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys are excited to present the Marty McFly sixth scale figure!
The movie-accurate collectible sixth scale figure is specially crafted based on the image of Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly in the movie, featuring a newly developed head sculpt, highly detailed costume and a number of accessories.

We’ve been having a great time celebrating Back to the Future Day with you, in a number of different ways, with a number of different posts. But nothing compares to Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) in Ireland, which had its own unique take on the day with a special hometown hero — the university is using today’s “holiday” to unveil an all-electric DeLorean.
In an instance of life imitating art, a Nike exec confirmed that the company is working on getting its Marty McFly “Back to the Future” shoe — with Power Laces — out to customers. Nike’s innovation chief Tinker Hatfield said the shoe — known as Nike Air MAG — would hit in 2015, and not a moment too soon!
But for those of us that don’t want to wait on Nike, and need your BTTF Shoes now – and I mean NOW-NOW, then check out what YouTuber Aloishis89 created – if you’re thinking what I’m thinking, then yes… self lacing shoes are here!
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads. Check out this awesome new animated “Back to the Future” parody short from Lego filmmaker MonsieurCaron. Last year, he impressed us with his Lego “Ghostbusters” short. His “Brick to the Future” short is just as impressive, with several characters and popular items from several geeky film and TV franchises making appearances. Can you spot all the pop culture and geek references? We dare you to try!
There are at least 11 things to find in the clip, ranging from Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber and Captain America’s shield to Ant-Man, Rocket Raccoon and baby Groot. Ready? GO!
Halloween is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Back To The Future, than to dress up as Marty McFly! We have just the geek guide to get your costume in order – because where we’re going – we don’t need roads, just the internet and a bit of creativity.
