Yes, it’s 2015 and it’s Back to the Future day and no, we don’t have hoverboards. Not like the sweet deals we saw above. Instead, the closest we have in the real world are super expensive liquid cooled only hovering on metal clunkers like in the videos after the break. I mean, yay technology, but it’s been thirty years and science has failed us. Check out the hovering inaction after the break.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on those wheeled monstrosities calling themselves hoverboards. Just no.

In a press release from Toyota, Back to the Future co-creator and producer Bob Gale offers some background on the manufacturer’s partnership with the franchise. “Toyota stands apart for their nod to the future and the past with the auto technology depicted in the movies. When Toyota approached us about helping tell a bigger story about the future and innovation with the Mirai, we loved the direction — and who can resist Marty’s retro Toyota truck?” Check out where, how, and when after the break:
I wrote this article a couple weeks ago in regards to some thoughts I had about how the original Back to the Future ended. Since it is Back to the Future Day here at Gabbing Geek, here’s a second look.
I read an interview once with actor Crispin Glover where he talked about, among other things, why he wasn’t in the Back to the Future sequels. Essentially, in the interview he stated that he questioned the ending and co-writer, co-producer Bob Gale then did everything in his power to keep Glover out of the eventual sequels.
What did Glover question? Did he question what happened to the Marty that left the perfected time line to jump into past from the Lone Pine Mall? Or what happened to those armed, and surely not dead, Libyan terrorists? No, he basically, before filming the “George punches out Biff” scene, asked whether the message was whether or not violence solves problems.
That’s not a bad question to explore.
If you listened to our Back To The Future podcast, you’d know that each of us geeks proposed a new Back To The Future 4 movie. How well did we do? That’s entirely up to you, but we’re not the first to think through this – check out the awesome parody after the break created by VJ4rawr2.

I can’t tell you the last time I sat down and watched any of the Back To The Future films in their entirety, let alone the full trilogy. But I did just that this weekend past. After the break you can find my thoughts on this 30 year old franchise. Does it hold up? Is this anything more than quota making for my posts so that I don’t have to wash Watson’s car? Probably not, but if you are still interested, read on.
