The Rise Of Cinematic Universes

Recently, it was announced that a new Scooby Doo movie would launch a Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe.  We also know that the Men in Black/21 Jump Street movie is supposed to actually happen.

Basically, that means that anything can be a cinematic universe these days.  While sitting around the Gabbing Geek Editorial Office, I came up with a few of my own.  See them after the cut.  Hollywood, feel free to use these for a small piece of the gross.  Not the net.  I won’t be screwed over that way.

Hey everyone who reads the credit boxes for articles.  I’m back from my vacation.  My wife and I spent a lovely ten days in Nova Scotia, and there wasn’t much of a Geek nature going on there because my wife is not a Geek.  I didn’t even get much of the reading I thought I would get done finished because we were doing stuff.

The sidekick.  That often annoying individual that follows the hero around, sometimes useful, sometimes not.  The character is a staple of genre fiction.  But sometimes the sidekick is more interesting than the hero.

After the cut are a few such sidekicks that outrank their bosses in terms of personality.  Who will make the cut?
