My next Bento Box came in with four graphic novels themed on the “gray,” where good guys may be bad and bad guys may be good. Once again, I’m reading them in the order the card inside suggested, so that means up first is Superior Iron Man Volume One: Infamous.

Bento Review: Marvel Masterworks Iron Man Volume 2
I finished off the December Bento box pile with one I had some minor mixed feelings for: a Marvel Masterworks volume of old 1960s Iron Man adventures.
The mixed feelings were because while I actually get a kick out of Silver Age screwiness, I’m not much of a fan of Iron Man when he’s not also Robert Downey Jr.
Review and maybe some mild SPOILERS after the cut.

Bento Review: Battlestar Galactica Memorial
Normally, I’d avoid a comic based on a licensed property like the proverbial plague, but Comics Bento just ships stuff, so I end up with stuff I normally wouldn’t, like that Youngblood volume, or this trade from Dynamite based off the original Battlestar Galactica.
How was it? See after the cut.

Bento Review: The Fifth Beatle
The Beatles were one of it not the most influential and popular rock bands of all time. The Fab Four have often had various other individuals referred to as the “Fifth Beatle,” but Vivel J. Tiwary and Andrew C. Robinson’s hardcover biography, The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story from Dark Horse Comics, suggests the real Fifth Beatle was the band’s manager, Brian Epstein.
Review and maybe some SPOILERS after the cut.
Bento Review: Youngblood Volume 1: Focus Tested
One of the most popular articles on Gabbing Geek is Jenny’s Geek Box Rankings. I took advantage of that to try one or two for myself, and the Comic Bento box appealed to me.
So, what did I get for my first box? Well, four graphic novels, all tied to the theme of the past. I’ll be reviewing them in the order the card in the box had them listed in…which is about the only way I’d ever read a Youngblood volume first…or at all.
Review after the cut.
