Hey, I saw that! What did I think? Review and mild SPOILERS (but not many) after the cut…
Achieving both high critical praise and high ticket sales, Disney’s Zootopia seems to be the kind of high quality movie you can take your kids to.
Well, it totally is. Review and analysis, with mild SPOILERS after the cut.
Animator Greg Wiseman has had a long string of animated series that have pleased fans but have always seemed to be cut short due to other factors. He was forced off Disney’s Gargoyles and saw his Spectacular Spider-Man cut short due to the Spider-rights going to Disney.
Then there was Young Justice, an animated series set in the DC universe about a team of superhero sidekicks going on covert missions for the Justice League.

Did you think Jurassic World went too far by having multiple CGI creatures? Do you think the upcoming Jungle Book doesn’t go far enough because it doesn’t have dinosaurs? Do you think there’s even a difference between movie dinosaurs and dragons anyway? If you’ve read this far then you should probably head after the jump to see the first trailer for Disney’s remake of Pete’s Dragon. Watson is really excited about this but even he’ll say “Yeah, but it’s an August release.” But don’t listen to him. Check out the trailer after the jump and make up your own mind!
Yes, we’re already three weeks into 2016 but I finally managed to put together my movie rankings for 2015. Because life. I only managed to see 51 films this year, a paltry sum compared to Watson when he isn’t even trying. And eight of those were on a plane to or from China, making the theater total even lower. Definitely a busy year, but overall a great one for movies. Head after the jump to see how I ranked all 51!
I’m totally off the grid these days, but Ryan’s predictions are so bad I had to come in and rip them to shreds and give you the REAL numbers. His bold predictions about how the 2015 domestic box office would turn out were pretty weak. He called his performance was mixed–but for him mixed was chocolate plus peanut butter. In reality, it is a mix of Ex-lax and motor oil. So I am going to go, one by one, through his 2016 picks and give the real number. We have a lunch bet on who has the lowest delta between the acutals and their predictions. NO PRICE IS RIGHT RULES IN EFFECT!

One year ago I made some bold predictions about how the 2015 domestic box office would turn out. My performance was mixed–got some, missed some others. But now it’s time to look ahead to 2016. Jump after the break to see what I predict will be the top ten grossing films of the year along with 33 other movies I’m making some bold predictions on!
2016. Did any of us think we’d live this long? Yeah, probably. We’re Geeks, not morbid.
So, what sort of Geek Entertainment has us here at Gabbing Geek at least a little curious? See behind the cut, with some items getting some expert Geek Commentary from the Geek Guru himself, Jimmy Impossible.
It’s a slow day here at the Gabbing Geek office as we are all suffering from Force hangovers. But we still need to post something. So above, Universal shows respect to Star Wars on breaking almost every record in existence. Including top opening weekend, best single day, most home runs in a season, fastest quarter mile and number of hot dogs eaten in an hour.
ICYMI, after the break, a reminder of Marvel doing the same for Universal when Jurassic World bested Avengers.

Look, do I need to draw a map? Everyone knows what came in #1 last weekend. The only question is how much did it come in #1 by. Seriously, was there any chance it wouldn’t?
You know what’s even odder? All the Gabbing Geeks have seen that movie by now, and no one has written a review for it. Not even Ryan listing all the things that were wrong about it, which he even does for movies he likes.
Anyway, more results after the cut.
