Play The Latest Fallout Game Right Now!

fallout-shelter

Ok, it’s not Fallout 4, and you’re going to need an iOS device (Android “coming soon”) but Bethesda has released a mobile game called Fallout Shelter.  It looks like a radioactive version of Sim City and similar games.  You are the Overseer and you create your own vault.  You are responsible for the safety of the vault and the happiness of its inhabitants.

It has more of a cartoony Vault Boy look than hardcore Fallout, but it definitely looks and feels like a Fallout game.  The game is free and there are no “pay wall timers”.  You can also play without an internet connection.  If you’re not already running off to download, view the E3 gameplay video announcement (and maybe some bonus features about the Fallout 4 release if you are really good) after the break.

Shine Up Your Pip-Boys…Fallout 4 Is Officially Announced!

fallout4

In typical Fallout fashion when the countdown clock on their website stopped…nothing happened.  Just a “Please Stand By” screen.  But everything seems to be up and running now over to fallout4.com.  We don’t yet know many specifics besides the platforms being PS4, Xbox One and PC.  Look for a whole lot more to be revealed on June 14 at Bethesda’s E3 press conference.

The announcement trailer is available for your viewing pleasure after the break.  There’s definitely a bit of a “been there, done that” feel to it as it is mostly typical looking (with upgraded graphics obviously) Fallout, but I’m still giddy.

How Do You Keep A Geek In Suspense? Unveil A Website With A Fallout Countdown Clock.

Fallout 3, albeit glitchy as all get out, is one of my all-time favorite games.  Ryan’s too I think.  And while I liked New Vegas, we’ve been waiting for a true sequel since 2009.  And it looks like tomorrow we might get an announcement that grants our wish.  Bethesda Game Studios has launched a new website that displays a Fallout like clock that is counting down to…something.  Tune in tomorrow to find out what.  (h/t to James, another huge Fallout fan, for the heads up.)
