When the Justice League was funny, it was supposed to be tied to the United Nations. That meant it actually had to have some foreign members instead of the usual collection of Americans. Oh yeah, some of those Americans were aliens, and Aquaman probably had duel citizenship with Atlantis at the time, but when the closest you can come to a foreign member is Wonder Woman from Paradise Island, then you need to try a little harder and maybe pull out a good guy from a real country instead of a fictional one.
So, yeah, we got ourselves a Russian hero in Rocket Red.
Last week, when I covered the Beefeater in this column, I mentioned how that Beefeater’s dad was a partner to a World War II era American hero named General Glory. When the Beefeater tried to tell his wife about his old man’s adventures with the good General, his wife reminded him that General Glory was a fictional character from American comic books.
Thing is, the Justice League books of the time dropped that line a couple times, and so it came as something of a surprise that General Glory was actually a real guy.
(Editor’s Note: Let’s all be kind to Jimmy and pretend it is the week of May 20th. He really does try very hard to get his work done on time. But for someone with commitment issues (ask Ms. Impossible) he can’t seem to say “No” to any project that comes his way. So remember, it’s May 20th, Convergence is not over, and Jimmy is awesome. Thanks from Gabbing Geek.)
Hey everybody! A couple of clunkers in this batch of issues as we finish up the penultimate week of Convergence. I’m looking forward to next week when the finale gets released. I’m sure it will all start making sense at that point. I’m sure nothing crazy and continuity shattering will occur and everything in the New 52 will be just as we left it two months ago.

Week three continues and if Watson actually read comic books anymore he’s be losing his cookies that we get to meet our THIRD Aquaman in as many weeks. Watson, man, get in here. There was even a Wally West Flash story in week one and I know you loves some Wally West Flash.

It is often said on the Gabbing Geek podcast (listen to it!) that I don’t read comics. Well I did once. So in talking to my buddy Phil Ray the other day, he asked me to write a post on my ten favorite Trade Paperbacks ever (“other than Watchmen, of course”). I would tell him writing for a website is not like being a DJ at da club because we don’t take requests, but he did introduce me to my ex-wife (thanks, jerk) so here we go…
Say hello to Michelle Rodriguez. You know the super star from epic movies like Fast & The Furious, Resident Evil, and Avatar (and lest we not forget her run on the TV series LOST, quite possibly the best show EVAH!). In a recent article published by MoviePilot.Com, they explore DC’s tilt towards a current rumors that Ms. Rodriguez could play the new Green Lantern. Let’s break this down into smaller chunks.
