Say hello to Keaton. Keaton is a very special boy who unfortunately has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Last year Keaton wanted to be a pirate for Halloween, and his dad Ryan wouldn’t stop until he was able to turn Keaton’s chair into a pirate ship. This small act of creativity ultimately landed him on the front page of the local paper.
Ryan followed up by making costumes for two of his other children who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy and he realized this was something he could do for kids in wheelchairs all over the country. Thus began Magic Wheelchairs, a non-profit organization. This year, Ryan and his wife Lana raised $25,000 through Kickstarter and will be able to provide costumes for eight lucky kids.
