Tom Recommends: The Cornetto Trilogy

Gabbing Geek Tom Recommends v2Among the many interesting “what if’s” that we can ask in regards to the recent Ant-Man, there is the question of how the movie would have turned out had the original director, Edgar Wright, finished the movie he’d worked on for so long.  Wright still got a story and script credit for the work, and had parted ways due to some sort of creative differences with Marvel Films.  Wright had been linked to the project for ages, well before The Avengers hit the big screen, such that many hoped or assumed Wright’s longtime friend and collaborator Simon Pegg might have been cast as Hank Pym.

Why would anyone assume that?  Well, you’d need to see the Cornetto Trilogy to get that.

Move Over Carmen Miranda, There’s A New Chiquita In Town!

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there, She would merengue and do the cha-cha… (yadda, yadda, yadda) …At the copa! Copacabana! The hottest spot north of Havana (here)! At the copa (CO!) Copacabana! —okay, I got that out of my system. But seriously! Just look at that hat! I’m sure Carmen Miranda is rolling in her grave, either that or she’s high-fiving some angels, because the hats that Etsy artist Maor Zabar is creating are just too much! Fruits and veggies are so 1950’s, now with the help of Zabar, you can crown yourself with the likes of sushi, salads, fried eggs, and more!
