Like any self-respecting Geek-Girl, I totally binged watched Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix this past weekend. Don’t judge! I’m not ashamed – I love comics, I love Marvel, and I love TV, so this was a win-win for me. But I was weary, yes dear readers, I was weary of how it would all pan out. So the question is, did Daredevil live up to the advertising hype? Spoiler alert: IT DID! And I’ll tell you why it’s changing the future for superhero stories on TV.

Like Your Marvel Comics Cheap? How Does 100 Pennies Sound?

As Marvel continues to ramp up to Secret Wars, they are introducing a line of cheap reprints to give you some background on the various zones of Battleworld.  Or, more specifically, like the DC Comics Essentials issues, they are making the first chapter (or so) of a story arc available for $1 in hopes that you will then buy the ~$20 trade paperback to get the rest of the story.  They can be a good introduction to readers and a cheap way to get your feet wet if you are not familiar with the properties.

Podcast Reaction: The Dead Pool Edition

This week on the podcast, we saw Watson’s morals crumble under the weight of peer pressure.  While I am flattered that an article of mine would attract some attention, I was writing about various Geek Icons, all over 60 years of age, who may or may not be around much longer.  Seeing as how the conversation turned to who might die next and how much money might be down on that, I was a wee bit dismayed.  And I will not be putting a bet down on Betty White.  No.  I won’t be.  The age thing is why Carrie Fisher was left off, by the by.

But good for Watson for holding out for a little over a minute.

Now I’m going to agree with one of his other points.
