Remember in that Star Wars movie (that nobody likes) when they had the opportunity to kill off Jar Jar Binks but didn’t and then later Qui Gon Jin was killed instead? As it turns out, in a preview for the June issue of Vanity Fair, it was revealed by J.J. Abrams that he is toying with the idea of killing Jar Jar. In an interview with Vanity Fair’s Bruce Handy, Abrams pointed to a frame from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens and said “I have thought about putting Jar Jar Binks’s bones in the desert there. I’m serious! Only three people will notice, but they’ll love it.”
May 4th is one of the best days to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character – and thanks to the Star Wars celebration that happened last month, we have a lot of Star Wars cosplay to cover. Check out some of our favorites, and let us know what you think? Especially when you see the George Lucas… I mean, can we say doppleganger or what?
The first time I can remember going to the movies, it was to see Star Wars. I must have been between four and five. I went with my dad, just the two of us. A part of me is a little jealous my kid brother will be able to do the same with his son in December.
Now, that movie made an impression, obviously. I mean, I am aware I went to the movies prior to this one, almost certainly to see Disney cartoons or something, but I remember Star Wars as the first. It was almost certainly one of my gateways into science fiction, fantasy, and being a geek.
So why am I not a fan of “Star Wars Day”?
