Snow White and the Huntsman was surprisingly ok. Especially for a movie that starred Kristen Stewart. Though I don’t think a sequel is necessary. Almost $400mil worldwide gross thinks differently I suppose.

The Martian hit theaters this week, and we couldn’t be more excited here at Gabbing Geek. For those of you that didn’t listen to our book review of Andy Weir’s New York Time’s best seller, here is a quick synopsis:
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew (Jessica Chastain, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, & Aksel Hennie). But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet with only the NASA crew (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels, Sean Bean & Donald Glover) as his source of communication.

The first full-length trailer has arrived for “The Martian,” the sci-fi drama directed by Ridley Scott, which opens November 25th and stars Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover.
Based on the 2011 novel by Andy Weir, astronaut Mark Watney (Damon), who during a manned mission to Mars is presumed dead and left behind by his crew. Struggling to survive with only meager supplies, Watney manages to get a signal to Earth, leading NASA to search for a way to bring “the Martian” home, even as his own crew hatches a daring — and seemingly impossible — rescue plan. You know who geeks love? Tom Hiddleston. You know who else they love? Guillermo del Toro. They’re probably indifferent to Jessica Chastain, despite stuff like Interstellar. Did you know they made a horror movie together? They did. Crimson Peak will be out in October.
Jenny will love what I am about to write. Rarely does that happen.
Jessica Chastain may not have gotten an Oscar nomination for her role in A Most Violent Year, but she WAS named a badass for a role she DID get a nod playing. Indiewire compiled the ten biggest badasses (Should we call that the Sigourney Awards?) of this decade.
