I’m not much of a fan of Keanu Reeves as an actor. Everything I know about him as a person tells me he’s a really good guy who’s lived a tragic life but has managed to make the most of it, but as an actor, he often leaves me cold.
That would be why I waited this long to see John Wick. But, on the advice of some of the other Geeks around here, I rectified that omission before the movie left HBO. SPOILER-FREE review after the cut.
Back in the Fall, I was stunned that I loved the Keanu Reeves film, John Wick. Pure dumb action but well made. I saw that it was iTunes’ 99 cent rental this week and wanted to recommended it to my fellow Geeks. That movie was worth first run theater prices. At 99 cents it’s a steal. Check it out.
The easy answer is, when I’m in line at the movie rental store, I’m much more likely to pick up something geeky or a stupid comedy than some heart wrenching drama. One of those three usually gets accolades. The other 4/5ths (#jennymath) usually do not. And to celebrate the worst of movies that Jimmy likely saw, they invented the Razzies. Given out 24 hours before Neil Patrick Harris shocked the world and brought Gabbing Geek to its knees by mentioning Clue in the opening musical number, here are your 2015 Razzie winners…
It already had Chris Pratt. Cowboys. Ninjas. Vikings! (All three of them are ONE guy!- Ryan the Dick). If this movie wasn’t shaping up to be Harrison Ford-Chili Dog-Ice Cream level awesome, now comes news that makes me even more excited!
This week, I unveiled my Top 20 and bottom 20 movies. What about the other 105 flicks that made up the crazy list? For your browsing amusement, here is the ENTIRE list of 2014 movies viewed by Gabbing Geek film fan extraordinaire. Enjoy!
The best films of the year deserve much greater examination. For a full review of each film #1-10, check out my list.
