New Trailer Reminds Me How Much I’ve Missed Jason Bourne

jason_bourne

I’ve been a big fan of Jason Bourne in book and movie form for a long time.  So it was disappointing that Matt Damon appeared to hang up his spy suit and move on to other things like being left alone on Mars.

Universal tried to keep the franchise alive with The Bourne Legacy, but I’m sorry Jeremy Renner, Jason Bourne, you are not.

But somebody in Hollywood said the right things or opened up the right briefcase full of money because a new Jason Bourne film is just around the corner featuring the return of Matt Damon as the lead character.  Watch the trailer after the break and head to the theatres to see Jason Bourne on July 29.

Super Bowl 50 – Jason Bourne

jason_bourne

Finally, after the expectedly disappointing side-quel that was The Bourne Legacy, Matt Damon is back as the main man himself in Jason Bourne.  Of note, this is the first Bourne movie that hasn’t taken a title from the book series…not that any of the movie plots have come from said books.  Get a first look after the break.

Ryan’s 2015 Movie Rankings

number one (image can be used for printing or web)

Yes, we’re already three weeks into 2016 but I finally managed to put together my movie rankings for 2015.  Because life.  I only managed to see 51 films this year, a paltry sum compared to Watson when he isn’t even trying. And eight of those were on a plane to or from China, making the theater total even lower.  Definitely a busy year, but overall a great one for movies.  Head after the jump to see how I ranked all 51!

Honest Trailer For That Knee Slapping Comedy The Martian

martian

If you’ve been around these parts from the days when we used to do a podcast, you know around here we love The Martian.  But I’m sorry Golden Globes, the funniest thing to do with The Martian is it being nominated (and winning!) the GG for Best Comedy.  It has some very funny moments, but is not a comedy.

Just my little dated rant for today.  Also slightly dated, after the cut be sure to watch what Honest Trailers think about Matt Damon needing to be rescued.  Again.

Bold Predictions: 2016 Edition- Watson’s Rebuttal

goldcoinsI’m totally off the grid these days, but Ryan’s predictions are so bad I had to come in and rip them to shreds and give you the REAL numbers.  His bold predictions about how the 2015 domestic box office would turn out were pretty weak.  He called his performance was mixed–but for him mixed was chocolate plus peanut butter.  In reality, it is a mix of Ex-lax and motor oil.  So I am going to go, one by one, through his 2016 picks and give the real number.  We have a lunch bet on who has the lowest delta between the acutals and their predictions.  NO PRICE IS RIGHT RULES IN EFFECT!
