IT’S A NAP! – ha! Even Admiral Ackbar know when a good night’s sleep is just a good night’s sleep and nothing else (like a trap). I was tickled to see these super cute Star Wars pillow cases offered up by Etsy Shop owner Saturday Morning Pancakes. There are 3 different versions to choose from. So if you’d like to snuggle up next to a droid, or sleep on the chest of Chewbacca, then check out the other options after the break:
Truth be told that about this time every year, I get a little nostalgic. It’s in the beginning of July, and (almost to the date) one month before my 6 year wedding anniversary. Not that any of you care about that – because, seriously, we get enough of that crap on Facebook. But the nostalgia usually leads me to thinking about our awesome R2D2 groom’s cake – unto which was destroyed by everyone eating it (I have to admit, it was delicious). But it got me thinking, who else out there is keeping the Star Wars wedding cake theme alive? The answer? PLENTY! Check out some of the best Star Wars themed wedding cakes from a galaxy far far away:
We’ve seen a lot of cool Star Wars jewelry on the interwebs, but since summer is in full swing, and it’s prime time for tying the knot, these rings are the perfect way to let your geek flag fly while saying your “I-Do’s.” Want to see more amazing engagement options? Check it out after the break:
Episode 42 of Gabbing Geek has a great conversation about Jurassic World, our Watchmen book club, and a fun Star Wars Episode VII betting game. Give it a listen right now or jump after the break to read more!
Now this is a thing of beauty. Long past are the days of Wizards slaying dragons on the side of your hometown VW bus. And no longer do we covet the trio of wolves howling to a full moon passing us by on the highway. Because people, long awaited is the R2D2 Volkswagen Bus. Feast your eyes on this modern marvel made by San Diego-based artist Cesar Aguzzoli. If you want to view his whole process of applying it and creating the masterpiece, check out his step by step here
The force is strong in this vehicle – though we don’t promise it can make a Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. That’s up to you dear padawans.
Nothing says Star Wars fan like having a hand sewn pillow on your couch or bed. You know – it’s the little things that claim you as classy, yet practical. Etsy shop owner AlienCoutureUK (AC) searched everywhere for anyone who made interesting cushions for the Geek home, but could not find a good selection anywhere. So to remedy that, the shop started making their own. Eventually all their friends started asking AC to make them some, and so Alien Couture was born. Check out more of their styles after the break:
The beloved BrotherhoodWorkshop is at it again. This time with a nice little short video of R2-D2 being…. shall we say…..relentless. You have to see it for yourself. He’s kicking ass, and taking names! Watch video after the break:
This week on the podcast, Jenny and the guys discussed grievances and Age of Ultron. Now, in the private editorial meeting that came about between the recording of the podcast and my ability to listen to the podcast, Jenny expressed hopes I would not be too hard on her.
Never fear, Jenny. No matter how much quacking is going on, I think you may be more right than wrong this week.
Some SPOILERS after the cut.
May 4th is one of the best days to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character – and thanks to the Star Wars celebration that happened last month, we have a lot of Star Wars cosplay to cover. Check out some of our favorites, and let us know what you think? Especially when you see the George Lucas… I mean, can we say doppleganger or what?
You knew we were going to find some original art for you to enjoy on this momentous Star Wars day! And Etsy shop owner GoGoBookArt does not disappoint! Check out these lovely art printed on old antique dictionary paper. Frame it up, and call it day while R2D2 looks on lovingly while snaking on popcorn. I’m most in love with the Yoda version, which you can see after the break!
