Modern Trailers For Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi

empirestrikesback

Because a day is not complete without at least one Star Wars post.  (Editor’s note: Uh, Jimmy, Tom already posted about Star Wars with the Box Office Report…which you would know if you had written the Box Office Report like you had been assigned.  You are already on thin ice in 2016 Mr. Impossible.)

Well, geez.  If you’re still around, after the cut, check out these trailers for Episodes V and VI, with a modern flair to them.

The Force Awakens opens on the 18th.  Star Wars fans can barely contain themselves.  They got the original band back together (mostly), and the epic saga continues with a new generation.

To better prepare ourselves, we here at Gabbing Geek are doing a Star Wars rewatch, with a movie covered a day until the 18th rolls around, skipping weekends.

Here’s our first installment on Episode I:  The Phantom Menace.

Announcing A Star Wars Rewatch!

star-wars-wallpaper-12

Unless you’ve been living in a hole for the past year or so, you know there’s a new Star Wars coming out next week.

To do something with that, I’m doing a rewatch and have invited the other Geeks to share their two cents on the previous six movies.  We’ll have one a day starting tomorrow with The Phantom Menace (skipping the weekend) and end with Return of the Jedi next Thursday.

So, hey, see what we have to say about the most important movie series in the universe.  That statement may be a bit of a hyperbole.  Schedule after the cut.

Fascinating Force Awakens Clue Comes From Shattered Empire Comic Book

shattered

The comic book world has been awash with new Star Wars comic books the past year.  While the majority of these books take place in the years between Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, one four-issue series took place starting at the end of Return of the Jedi.  That book bore the title of Shattered Empire with the curious slugline of Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

While the first three issues seemingly just tell a bit more of the story after Return of the Jedi with cameos from literally every Star Wars character you love, the fourth issue drops a doozy of a clue as to what might happen in Episode VII next month (okay, I still get chills thinking that it’s NEXT MONTH).  This isn’t really a spoiler because we can’t confirm anything and it takes place far before the movie, but this is your warning if you don’t want to read on.  If you want a hint at something very cool in the movie about Poe Dameron then read on.

Awesome Cosplay Of The Day: RANCOR BEAST

Capture

Cosplay can be fun, it can be realistic, it can be mesmerizing, but it’s hard to pull off all three at the same time. Well, that’s what artist Frank Ippolito did with his Star Wars Rancor cosplay. What’s even more amazing about this not so little Rancor, is that Frank built it in less than a month! Frank was given special access to movie set props and clay figures to help him build this magical creature. See a fantastical video of how he was able to pull it off after the break:
