The discussion around Batman v Superman will likely continue…well, forever. After our initial ratings Prime Blogger Tom felt the need to defend his generous grade of the movie. I thought he did a good job explaining his rationale so I thought I would return the favor by defending my own rating the movie a 3 out of 10. Jump after the break for my full reasoning.

The Complete List Of Everything Wrong With Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice
I may be late to the game in finally seeing Batsoup but at least I didn’t have to brave the crowds to see it. While my fellow Gabbing Geeks have given the movie much higher ratings (above 5 out of 10) I thought rather than just give a review I would list everything wrong with the movie. Warning: spoilers after the break. Second warning: it’s a long list. But if I missed anything let me know in the comments.

Review: Morning Star (Spoiler-Free)
The final book of the Red Rising series was released last week and for the first time in the trilogy I did not make it through the book in a day or two. I found myself dragging my feet, both propelled forward to find out what happens next and also unwilling to see it all end. Because it is all good. So good. And to have a series be this good and deliver on its promise is rare. But I did finish, as these things must. So jump after the break to read my spoiler-free thoughts on the conclusion of this epic tale.
Review: Legends Of Tomorrow
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow premiered last night after months of anticipation. Could it deliver on the solid foundation that Flash has brought us for the last year and a half? Could a team show work in an hour-long format? Will Mr Freeze actually be a good guy? Jump after the break for a full review.
[WARNING: SPOILERS AFTER THE BREAK]
5 Reasons SPECTRE Was A Fantastic Bond Movie
I am a huge James Bond fan even if I don’t love every James Bond movie. Casino Royale was amazing and then Quantum of Solace came in and stunk up the place. Then we were given Skyfall, an amazing movie and my favorite Bond film of all time. So to have the entire creative team come back for SPECTRE made me incredibly excited.
Life got in the way of me seeing SPECTRE for far too long. This is the first Bond film I didn’t see on opening night since the 90s. But I finally did get to see it and I have to say, the mediocre reviews and sup-bar box office performance has me stumped because this is a fantastic James Bond movie. Here are 5 reasons why but be warned, they have some SPECTRE and Skyfall spoilers after the break.

Counterpoint Review: The New Peanuts Movie Is As Bad As Peanuts

By now you already know that The Peanuts Movie is in theaters. You may have seen it, probably with children (either your own or surrounded by them). Maybe you’ve even read Jenny’s review of the film filled with, at rough count, eighty bajillion frame grabs from the movie. I’m here to set the record straight about The Peanuts Movie and Peanuts in general.
Ready? Good.
Peanuts sucks. More after the break, if you need it.

The Bandstand: The Most Compelling Musical You Shouldn’t See…Yet
Although Gabbing Geek tends to cover more traditional geek fare we’re also dedicated to geeky subjects of all kinds. My geekiest obsession that falls outside the expected movie, comic book, and science fiction universes is theater. I’ve been a passionate fan of musical theater and a few plays for decades and my wife and I have been known to schedule almost all of our vacations around trips to New York City or London to see shows. Whether you too are a theater fan or just curious about that universe, I’ll be bringing my theater reviews here to Gabbing Geek just as often as I can see the shows.
Next up is the intriguing story of a musical where everything, and yet nothing, works. Come read more about The Bandstand, currently playing in New Jersey but transferring to Broadway next year. And it’s an appropriate show to discuss today on our Veteran’s Day here in the United States as the show deals with an important topic for veterans.

Review: The New Peanuts Movie Is Simply Delightful
No matter if you’re 5 or 55, you’ve probably been affected by Peanuts cartoon artist, Charles Schulz. Peanuts made its first appearance on October 2, 1950, in seven newspapers. The weekly Sunday-page debuted on January 6, 1952 and ran for 50 years!
Since that time we’ve grown to love Peanuts classics like It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Christmas, as well as a number of other films starring Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Franklin, and the rest of the Peanuts gang. And as of November 6, 2015 the Schulz legacy continues with its debut of the new Peanuts Movie. And what a delightful and wonderful movie it is.
