Recently, it was announced that a new Scooby Doo movie would launch a Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe. We also know that the Men in Black/21 Jump Street movie is supposed to actually happen.
Basically, that means that anything can be a cinematic universe these days. While sitting around the Gabbing Geek Editorial Office, I came up with a few of my own. See them after the cut. Hollywood, feel free to use these for a small piece of the gross. Not the net. I won’t be screwed over that way.
According to Hollywood folklore, the movie Predator started off as something of a joke. The concept was that since Rocky Balboa had managed to win the Cold War, there wasn’t anyone left on Earth for him to fight in the ring, so it might be time to bring in someone from beyond the stars to spar with the Italian Stallion.
And you thought Pauly’s robot in Rocky IV was ridiculous.
Thank God they made a better movie out of the idea instead.
Hey, another weekend passed, and our usual box office guy, Watson, is still on special assignment covering the civil war in Ukraine. He said there was geek value to it, and who are we to say no to Watson putting himself in harm’s way?
