During San Diego Comic-Con, Sideshow Collectibles revealed their new Masters of the Universe pieces which Deviant Artist Nebezial helped design! Check out the other concept sketches for Skeletor, as well as the prototypes from Sideshow. 🙂 Super cool to see art transform into a 3D figure.
Cosplay can be fun, it can be realistic, it can be mesmerizing, but it’s hard to pull off all three at the same time. Well, that’s what artist Frank Ippolito did with his Star Wars Rancor cosplay. What’s even more amazing about this not so little Rancor, is that Frank built it in less than a month! Frank was given special access to movie set props and clay figures to help him build this magical creature. See a fantastical video of how he was able to pull it off after the break:
This week on the podcast, the Gabbiest of Geeks discussed random stuff that happened at the San Diego Comic Con. I got name dropped twice. Once when Watson mistook a completely different Sy-Fy bit of programming that I had brought up from one Ryan was discussing. Ryan’s sounded very interesting, but I was discussing in the GG Bullpen a mini-series based on Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood’s End that I may try to set up as a book club thing for here on the website. Stay tuned.
I also learned I am apparently in Hell. I wasn’t expecting that. I imagine that is what most people say when they find themselves there.
Our latest podcast looks back at the San Diego Comic Con with a fun twist! Give it a listen right this very second or jump after the break to find out more! So much geek news!
San Diego Comic Con is is full swing – and that means COSPLAY! Hundreds and Hundreds of awesome cosplay. There is so much cosplay in fact, that we truly cannot cover it all – but that being said, IO9 had a wonderful library to share, and we picked out a few of our favorite. Check them all out after the break:

Hugh Jackman is going to play Wolverine one last time. At the San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, he suggested his final go-around with the character may be based off the “Old Man Logan” storyline.
That…would be a great send-off for the character actually. Too bad they can’t make a particularly faithful adaptation.
Fans of a certain Doctor may have much to rejoice in as Doctor Who is returning in September.
Granted, fans of that Doctor probably already knew that, so the previous statement was meant for people who aren’t fans. That’s the sort of mental gymnastics we here at Gabbing Geek routinely give our dozen or so regular readers who don’t already work here.
Anyway, a trailer for the new season dropped at San Diego Comic Con, so see it after the cut.
