Simpsons Did It!: “Itchy & Scratchy & Marge”

Every so often, The Simpsons would do an episode based in or around Itchy and Scratchy Studios and trot out Roger Meyers (voiced by late Alex Rocco), where they parodied cartoons and how they are made, and the creators snuck Simpsonized versions of themselves into scenes.

I’ve seen a few of these before.  Might have even posted some in the Funnies.  But never before have I seen a collection of so many of these real world cartoon characters.  Some are amazing.  Some are bizarre.  Some will haunt your dreams.

I would like to begin my article about the world’s biggest hole with a satirical comparison to fellow GGer Jenny, but I’ve been warned that such a jeer would be poorly received in the “punch to the face” variety. Thus we will take a different tact in our coverage.

This is probably one of my favorite videos on YouTube.  Someone took tons of clips from tons of movies and TV shows and made a rather good techno-kinda tune out of it.  I’ve seen lots of stuff, but even I can’t name all of them here.  I tend to skip to this whenever I want a quick smile at someone else’s cleverness.

Gabbing Geek Box Office Report: Mortdecai Misses, Sniper Does NOT

 

After such big hit opening weekends with Taken and American Sniper, we finally get a reminder of what January box office reports are SUPPOSED to look like.  American Sniper continued to dominate the box office; pairing Oscar buzz and a weird Chik Fil A effect to stay at the top spot.  Most of the new releases that it faced off with were not as well-received.
