More Great Geek Art!

KUpzYRa

Once again, I was browsing Imgur, I came across some amazing art by ANOTHER a talented creator.  To me these have something of a Disney meets Image comics style, which actually works for me.  Though most of the works are of female geek characters, the artist dandonfuga throws in some manly men….just for Jenny.

So You Like Geek Art? This Is Great Geek Art!

JibnQ5B

While browsing Imgur, I came across some amazing art by a talented creator.  Really interesting pin-up style.  I worry that Gabbing Geek’s own Jenny is going to be unhappy with the Spider-Woman pose, though.  It’s not FULL “rooftop”, but it is slightly “rooftop”….

CBS thinks they have a hit on their hands with the upcoming Supergirl live action series.  But the question is, how do they handle the onscreen presence of the most iconic superhero EVAH?  The producers have now tipped their hand.

Slightly Misplaced Comic Book Case File #23: Arrowette

These guys need to learn to read signs posted on trees.
These guys need to learn to read signs posted on trees.

The comic book version of Green Arrow is best known as being one of the few heroes with a distinctive political point of view.  Who does Superman vote for?  Who knows?  Green Arrow is an out-and-out bleeding heart liberal, and that’s probably one of his defining characteristics.

Except he wasn’t always that way.  The character existed for a good twenty years before his political perspective came up at all.  Prior to that, he was the standard white bread DC hero who did good because it was good and if he ever had a thought deeper than which arrow to use at any given moment, he sure didn’t share it.  In point of fact, the guy was a Batman rip-off, living as a millionaire playboy with his sidekick and ward in a big mansion with a cave and a car and a plane underneath his home.  It’s not much of a memorable era for the Emerald Archer.

This era also gave us Arrowette.

Supergirl Trailer! Jenny Still Hates The Outfit!

SUPERGIRL-First-Look-Image-Full-Body-2-720x1355-544x1024

CBS is still going forward with plans to make Supergirl a TV star, and last I checked, Cosplay Enthusiast Jenny (her actual job title believe it or don’t) hates that outfit she’s wearing.  Dominatrix boots with a Superman shirt are not her thing.

Oh, yeah, someone dropped a trailer.  See it after the cut.

Your Favorite Superhero Show Is Just Like Five Others

comicshowinfographic

You know that superhero TV show?  That one you really like starring that white guy who was an orphan and now fights crime?  But as a vigilante, of course.  And he has a secret identity which should be obvious to everyone around him but then again nobody seems to mind that there’s a leather costume for this superhero for no good reason?

Yeah, that show.  Or should I say one of a dozen shows?  This infographic from Bea Yuen shows that a lot of those cool superhero TV shows we’re enjoying right now are…somewhat similar.  Check out the full-sized graphic after the break.

Jimmy Attempts To Read All Of Convergence: Week Three Part One

convergence-3

I’ve come to the realization (not surprisingly) that I may be taking Convergence too seriously.  Trying to make sure it makes sense and ties into the history of the DC universe and multiverse…and it just doesn’t.  There are just too many continuity problems here that if I continue down the rabbit hole, I’ll never enjoy the 60+ (Dear God) remaining issues.  So I will make comments on such things, but if DC isn’t going to put in the effort to at least attempt to have things make sense, then I’m not going to bother either.

Be sure to catch up on all the Convergence happenings with coverage of:

Week One: Part One, Part Two

Week Two: Part One, Part Two

Read on for Week Three spoilers after the break for Convergence #3, Batman And The Outsiders #1, Adventures Of Superman #1, Superboy And The Legion Of Super-Heroes #1 and Wonder Woman #1.
