Teaser Time: Predator Image

AttheMovies_t670

Do we need another Predator?  I don’t know.  But there’s a new one coming from writer/director Shane Black, who was also the dorky guy in the glasses that got killed first in the original movie.

Given Black’s preferences, I am expecting the movie to take place around Christmas.

Teaser Time: Ghostbusters

AttheMovies_t670

OK, so, I’m not sure why (aside from a cynical cash grab) anyone would want to reboot Ghostbusters, but it happened, and I’ll even go so far as to say that if they had to do it, and do it with an all-female batch of Busters, they chose the right women for the job.

Actually, I have said that.  Moving on.

Anyway, there’s a teaser now.  No ghosts in it.  No ghostbusters in it.  Heck, it looks a lot more serious than I would have thought.  Mostly it gives a date for the trailer, so we have an ad for an ad.  See it after the cut.

Teaser Time: Orphan Black Season Four

AA_orphanblack_thumbnail_s2_02_web

One of my biggest regrets for cutting my cable was having to wait for season three of BBC America’s Orphan Black to go up to a streaming service and being unable to watch it when it was new.

Well, good news for those who aren’t me:  season four is coming soon.  See a really short, really odd teaser after the cut.

Teaser Time: Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones

Fans have been wondering about whether that, you know, one guy really died in the last minute or so of the last episode of last season’s Game of Thrones.  I mean, there’s been speculation about this and that, denials and online snoopings, and Ryan walking around the Gabbing Geek offices telling us all we know nothing.

Say, is “snoopings” a real word?

Did this character live?  Beats the hell out of me.  But he’s featured rather prominently in the teaser HBO released.  See it after the cut.

Samurai Jack Is Coming Back

Gabbing Geek What We're Watching

The success of the Hotel Transylvania films does have one good side effect:  director Genndy Tartakovsky gets some much-deserved attention.  That guy does good work.

Hey, wanna know what his next project is?  He’s bringing back a character he used to work on, namely Samurai Jack.  There’s a six second teaser behind the cut.

Gabbing Geek What We're Watching

You know what most time travel scenarios seem to involve?  Going back in time and killing Hitler.  Someone always posits the whole “kill Hitler” thing.  That’s how I know there’s no such thing as time travel:  Hitler didn’t die before he caused any problems.

But then there’s the life saved, like John F. Kennedy.  Stephen King wrote a book on a guy who time travels back to save Kennedy, and Hulu has a mini-series for the adaptation of that book coming in February.  Teaser after the cut.

Teaser Time: Warcraft

warcraftposters_610

So, for some reason, there’s a Warcraft movie coming out.

As near as I can make out, I’m the only person at Gabbing Geek who ever played World of Warcraft at all, and for the life of me, I still don’t know why there’s a movie coming.  I mean, yeah, a few million players worldwide, the game as a deep mythology of its own, and so forth, but has there ever been a successful movie based on a video game?

Well, there’s a teaser after the cut if anyone is interested.  Don’t sneeze during play or you’ll miss the whole thing and have to play it again.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Is Just Weeks Away

star-wars-force-awakens_612x380Consequence of Sound reports that the latest Episode VII trailer will be shown at the Star Wars Celebration convention in mid-April and then attached to Age of Ultron just a few weeks later during its release.  Even if we don’t get a bootlegged/Periscoped/YouTubed version between those two dates, at the very least we’ll all get the see the trailer when we see Age of Ultron.  Because we’re all seeing Age of Ultron.  A lot.

Halo 5 Teaser

Do you play the Halo games?  Well, I personally don’t, but apparently there’s a Halo 5 on its way soon, and there’s a teaser for this thing.  Maybe it’ll make sense for longtime fans or something, but not me.

Anyway, teaser after the cut.
