Yes, we’re already three weeks into 2016 but I finally managed to put together my movie rankings for 2015. Because life. I only managed to see 51 films this year, a paltry sum compared to Watson when he isn’t even trying. And eight of those were on a plane to or from China, making the theater total even lower. Definitely a busy year, but overall a great one for movies. Head after the jump to see how I ranked all 51!
So I’m starting to think that Ryan and I are the only ones that liked Terminator: Genesis…Genysis…ah forget it…the lastest Terminator sequel. It’s not perfect and will potentially make your brain hurt if you think too much about it, but it is still fun and does more for the franchise than either Rise of the Machines or Salvation.
Honest Trailers doesn’t quite feel the same way. See what they have to say after the jump.
We here at Gabbing Geek LOVE box office reports. Ok….JUST me and Ryan. Everyone else seems to hate them. We’ve talked a lot about it the last few weeks, so let’s look at the winners and losers of this year’s box office as we wait for the Martian to officially kick off the Fall movie season.
On this weeks podcast the Geeks unveiled a List Of Truth™ about time travel movies. Ranking “some of the better” time travel movies. Who defined what were “some of the better”? I’ll agree that most of the list contains good to great movies (I would not include Men In Black III in those categories, and I haven’t seen Looper, I know, I know…), but it seems to contain some glaring omissions to me. Find them after the cut.
No I haven’t seen Terminator:Genisys. But since T2 is my favorite movie I should have seen it by now right? Perhaps, but I will see it soon. And if you are like me and haven’t visited the multiplex to see a 67 year old killing machine, refresh your memory on all the previous Terminators with the video after the break.
Note, the video does contain some spoilers at the end for Terminator:Genisys, though nothing you may not know from trailers and commercials. I’m not sure what exactly since I didn’t watch the end. If you want to avoid spoilers completely, stop the video after they say “Terminatrix”. And be on the ball about it, it segues into the new film pretty quick.
It’s no secret around the Gabbing Geek offices that Terminator 2: Judgement Day is my favorite movie of all time. But I don’t worry about taking it too seriously. And neither do the guys at Honest Trailers. Check out their skewering of T2 after the break.
And don’t forget to go see Terminator: Genisys opening next week.
