Gangsta Hobbits

The-hobbit-an-unexpected-journey

Let’s face it:  The Hobbit movies weren’t very good.

You know what might make them better?  How about some guns and a rap battle?

Well, maybe not, but the YouTube guys known as PistolShrimps edited the movies to add that sort of stuff.  Does it work?  You decide!  Some NSFW language in the video after the cut.

Peter Jackson on The Hobbit, “I Was Just Making It Up As I Went Along. I Didn’t Know What The Hell I Was Doing.”

The-hobbit-an-unexpected-journey

The video after the cut has been making the rounds lately that gives some insight into why The Hobbit movies are a bloated mess.  (In some opinions, I didn’t think they were so bad.  No LOTR, but enjoyable.)

Lord Of The Rings Stained Glass Art Is Mysteriously Breathtaking

This visionary art is created by none other than deviant artist breathing2004 aka Jian Guo. All in all, Guo has made so many different beautiful art pieces, it’s hard to feature them all. But we picked our some of our favorites from his Lord Of The Rings/ Tolkien tribute. But to get the full experience, be sure to check out his website, and see more after the break.

This is probably the most adorable art print I have seen in a long time. Artist Genevieve Santos absolutely knows her stuff, and we encourage you to check out her other prints in her Etsy Shop. Any geekdom you don’t see represented here?

Cover Yourself Up After Second Breakfast With This Middle Earth Blanket

hobnwthrme-w1000

Did you know that there is a Hobbit Shop? A WHOLE SHOP FOR HOBBITS? Actually, it’s a whole shop for man-kind featuring lovely Lord Of The Rings & Hobbit like items! I just love this Middle Earth blanket that would probably look amazing in my living room. But I’m pretty sure that if I bring home one more piece of memorabilia from the Lord Of The Rings, that I’ll be thrown out of the house. But good people – you can do it for me! Do it for the Hobbits, do it for man-kind!

Late Reviews: The Hobbit Battle Of The Five Armies

Not pictured: a single, solitary hobbit.

I have mentioned in the past that my wife is not a geek.  There is one noteworthy exception to her non-geekiness, which is some fantasy stuff like Harry Potter and the works of Tolkien.

That’s why it is so surprising to me that we didn’t get around to seeing the last of The Hobbit movies until this past Saturday.  Or maybe it isn’t.  Spoilers after the cut.

Mystery box subscriptions are all the craze these days. You know what I’m talking about, right? Mystery subscription boxes are mail order boxes filled with stuff that you pay for on a monthly basis. The catch is that you have no idea what is going to be in the box month-to-month. You have to go on faith that what is being delivered, will match the value of what you’re paying for the monthly subscription. And depending on what you subscribe to, you can open your mystery box and it may be filled beyond the value of your monthly fee, or you may come up short. It’s a gamble. And with a million different subscription themes out there; boxes for dogs, for foodies, for grooming, for geeks, etc, etc. You have to be sure you know what you’re getting into. Curious? Read on.
