Speed Run: Fallout 3

f3speedrunSpeed runs are when a video game expert utilizes every trick (non-hacking cheat) available to complete a game in the shortest amount of time.  They are impressive to watch when you consider how much time and practice it took to achieve.  Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games because of the massive world it inhabited.  I remember finishing the game (in many multiples of this speed run) and then learning I had only uncovered 11% of the world map.  Amazing.

Jump after the break to see this incredible Fallout 3 speed run in only 25 minutes, 57 seconds.

Speed Run: Skyrim

skyrimspeedrunSpeed runs are when a video game expert utilizes every trick (non-hacking cheat) available to complete a game in the shortest amount of time.  They are impressive to watch when you consider how much time and practice it took to achieve.  Skyrim is a game so massive you could spend your entire life just learning how to make really excellent gloves.  But there is a story to work through and many people have done that in under an hour.  The current world record is much shorter than this particular speed run, but the live recording of it makes this worthwhile.  Seeing the player and his screen while he finishes the massive Skyrim in only 57 minutes and 26 seconds is a lot of fun.  Check out the amazing speed run after the break.

Teens React To CONTRA (And They Are Frustrated!)

contrareact_610

Ahhhhhhh Contra. Remember the wit and will you had to have when taking on this game with it’s never ending stream of goons and flying bullets? In the latest “Teens React” video, the new generation takes on the same challenges, and watching them try to get through the first level is hilarious! Couple of lessons learned right off the bat: that dude running at you will kill you when he touches you, those dots flying toward you will kill you when they touch you, that turret that pops out of the wall will kill you when it touches you, and the most important lesson these kids learn, though, is that like life, Contra is really, really hard. See video after the break:

Having A Geek Tattoo – Or What Jenny Likes to Call “Having Brass Balls”

Superman-Chest-Tattoo-Ideas-For-Men

Okay – this is not an article on “how” to get a geek tattoo. This is more of an article about the millions of people who are brave enough to get a geek tattoo. I mean, let’s face it – you have to have brass balls to get a geek tattoo. It’s not your typical “whoops, I did that in college after a drunken night of LARPing” – well, maybe it is. My point being, that you better really LOVE that geek property, because guess what – IT’S GOING TO BE THERE FOREVER!

Xbox  Smells an Opportunity to Crush the Inferior PS4.

With a smart $349 price, Xbox One became the best selling console of the holiday season.

With the console wars not just about selling games, but acting as a conduit to the higher margin steaming services, Xbox is employing the old razor and blade tactic.

Most importantly, this shows the dominance of the Xbox platform over the Garcia preferred Sony.
