OK, I just finished watching the last of the new X-Files episodes, and as such, I feel like going on a Ryan-style rager.
SPOILERS for the last episode after the cut, because what the hell, man…

Mulder and Scully are back! But they might be a little out of touch with the world today. After the break, check out this early preview of the reunion as shown last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

There’s a lot of TV out there…and I haven’t done this column in a while for a wide variety of reasons, but then I subscribed to Acorn, an online streaming service for British television. About a five dollars a month. Can you beat that? Even with a stick? I sure couldn’t. Man, the stuff there…
Oh, this week I’m writing about Eleventh Hour.

As I mentioned in our 2016 anticipation column I’m trying to keep my expectations low for the new 6 episodes of The X-Files that will start airing on January 24th. But after the break, check out the opening minute of the show which gives a very, very brief recap of the series. It should have ended by seguing into the theme music, and maybe it will when the show airs, but either way it made me smile.

There’s a lot of TV out there, and some of it is underappreciated by mass audiences and freakin’ awesome.
This week’s column covers Hannibal.

Fox announced that Mulder & Scully are coming back. For all you X-files fans, you get 6 more episodes starting Jan 24th. Why Jan 24th for a stating date? Because it’s on right after the NFC Championship game! That’s a lead in show of 49 million viewers! The 2nd episode will follow the next evening, so 2 nights in a row of our favorite investigators of the paranormal. All the details can be find here. Take a look and let me know, are you interested to see them again, or are you going to check them out for the first time?
Gabbing Geek has been kind enough to give me space to spout off my highly ignorable ideas. To that end, I usually do various weekly columns. Tuesdays there’s something about a comic book character who died. Wednesday is TV reviews for non-geek TV. Thursday is the misplaced heroes series. Fridays, ending very soon, is the recap of all the stuff Jonathan Hickman has been doing with various Avengers titles leading up to the new Secret Wars, mostly so Jimmy’s head doesn’t explode. And, sporadically, there’s the Discworld read-along.
So, I am thinking, with the Secret Wars thing ending soon, I should do something else along the lines of a revisit to something I enjoyed in the past. Let’s let the Gabbing Geek loyal readers (both of them) help me decide what to do next with this handy poll:
This could be fun. Or it may not be. We’ll just have to wait and see.
We here at Gabbing Geek pride ourselves on covering breaking geek news as it comes out. But, near as I can make out, no one here has seen fit to post how The X-Files is returning for a 6 episode stint to the Fox network with original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
How did we miss this? Well, I have my theories.
This isn’t a conspiracy theory worthy of investigation by the Lone Gunmen. It is looking like Fox is revisiting the X-Files!
Following the success of Fox’s 24 limited series, the network is looking to bring back another iconic drama series, The X-Files. Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman today confirmed chatter that the network is in talks for a new installment ofChris Carter’s cult supernatural drama, which starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Newman went on to say he was “hopeful” about the outcome.
With the network mining old hits like 24 and X-Files, why not a remake of Briscoe County Jr?
