It is a fine tradition here at Gabbing Geek to write up multiple reviews for the same movie as different contributors get to see it.

So, just as Ryan and Jenny shared their own thoughts, here are mine for The Martian.

Possible SPOILERS after the cut, though some of them will be based on my experience with the movie since I saw it in 3-D.  I wasn’t intending to see it in 3-D, but was handed the pair of glasses when I got to the front of the line to turn in my ticket.

For years, Marvel couldn’t get a movie off the ground and DC owned the big screen with Superman and Batman. Eventually, Marvel caught and passed DC; which will try to return to the pinnacle with Batsoup. Today we take a look at the superhero films that excelled despite not having the built in advantage of the DC/Marvel banner. And as a Gabbing Geek bonus, we’ll also tell you where the film’s characters would best fit if you shoehorned it into the DC or Marvel comicverse.  Cuz we’re awesome like that.

It’s Oscar season, and we are looking for a Gabbing Geek way to cover Hollywood’s biggest night, so today we take a look at the best and worst performances by an Oscar Winning performer while playing a character in a comic book superhero film.  Some of them were future winners when they donned the tights, others already had the Oscars on the shelf.

We are leaving out movies like Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles and other non-superhero comic films, so you gotta be a superhero property to be eligible here!
