It’s the international trailer for the new Ghostbusters. I’m not sold on this film yet. The domestic trailer seemed like it couldn’t decide if the movie was a continuation, remake or reboot. As for the international trailer…well, most probably won’t understand what anyone is saying, but it contains a lot of new footage, especially of a certain Thunder God.
OK, so, I’m not sure why (aside from a cynical cash grab) anyone would want to reboot Ghostbusters, but it happened, and I’ll even go so far as to say that if they had to do it, and do it with an all-female batch of Busters, they chose the right women for the job.
Actually, I have said that. Moving on.
Anyway, there’s a teaser now. No ghosts in it. No ghostbusters in it. Heck, it looks a lot more serious than I would have thought. Mostly it gives a date for the trailer, so we have an ad for an ad. See it after the cut.
2016. Did any of us think we’d live this long? Yeah, probably. We’re Geeks, not morbid.
So, what sort of Geek Entertainment has us here at Gabbing Geek at least a little curious? See behind the cut, with some items getting some expert Geek Commentary from the Geek Guru himself, Jimmy Impossible.
I’m not sure what to think about this all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Not because I’m anti-feminist or anything, I just wonder do we need a Ghostbusters reboot at all? And while Kristen Wiig is ok, Melissa McCarthy does nothing for me. (I get the feeling I’m in the minority there.) And the other two women I’ve never heard of. But I’ll give it a fair shot. The true test will be whenever we get a trailer.
In the meantime, after the cut check out new posters for each of the individual Ghostbusters. I will admit, they are pretty bad ass.
This week on the podcast, it was all about Back to the Future. There were proposed sequels, even if Ryan’s did remind me of that Chrononauts thing Jimmy suggested I read. Well worth the 8 bucks I paid for it, too.
There was the world’s worst geek trivia.
There were future predictions.
But all this talk over Back to the Future has me wondering…is it really a classic?
Watson and Ryan hold down the fort for Episode 54 of the Gabbing Geek podcast while Jenny recovers from Tiredofputtingupwithalltheircrapitis. It’s going around. So the Y chromosomes talk about Star Wars, Hunger Games, Mars, Alexander Hamilton, movie villains, and the summer of 2016 in movies. You should listen to it right the heck now, or jump after the break to read even more!
Movies are magic. So many iconic moments. Be careful. The photos here may diminish the magic. Once you see Joker and Batman having a quick coffee talk with Tim Burton, the magic fades a little. More after the break!
